Environmental responsibility
By providing a lesser-explored corner of the world, we aim to avoid the pressures of mass tourism while developing a sustainable approach. To keep up with the advancement of tourism, we strive to conduct guidelines to protect the environment. As climate change causes fragility worldwide, it is crucial that we all play our part in reducing our global environmental footprint.
We are therefore proud to be part of The Conscious Travel Foundation.
The goal of The Conscious Travel Foundation is to make travel matter. To help people explore the world with purpose and reason, forming meaningful connections with the places they visit. The aim is to promote and encourage the positive impact of the travel industry on the environment, protecting and conserving the planet for generations to come.
The goal is a perfect fit to the values of NORDFOLK.
As our preferred partner, you are an important contributer to our donation of 1% of our revenue to a sustainable project; Polar Bears International.
At Polar Bears International, their mission is to conserve polar bears and the sea ice they depend on. The organisation work to address both short and long-term threats to polar bears to ensure they roam the sea ice for generations to come. With Svalbard warming four times faster than the rest of the planet, the community is motivated to do its part to reduce emissions. We at Nordfolk, situated in Norway, of which Svalbard is part, find their ethos close to our heart.
Thank you in advance for helping us to keep the high environmental standards we set for ourselves. If you see an opportunity for improvement, don’t hesitate to let us know. If you are out on a trip with us, be sure to make you footprint as small as possible, so that we can work together to take care of the ocean and our planet.
NORDFOLK aims to only use suppliers with proven sustainability records.
«The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it.»
– Sir David Attenborough
